• Latin 313

    Description:
This course is an introduction to the Latin language and its speakers, the ancient Romans. In this course, you will develop proficiency in listening, speaking, writing, and especially reading Latin. This means that you will: 1) acquire certain linguistic knowledge and skills (e.g. pronunciation, vocabulary, morphology and syntax), and 2) understand the culture that produced texts in Latin and used it on a daily basis. The Latin language is the basis of all the Romance languages and has also influenced many other European and non-European languages. The study of Latin also opens a window into the daily lives of the ancient Romans, who still have much to tell us.
