On behalf of our entire community, welcome to the Greenacres Elementary School!

We know that starting a new school can be overwhelming, so we hope the information contained here makes your adjustment just a bit easier. This is an abbreviated version of some of the information available to you on both our school website and our district website. If you are starting Kindergarten will be contacted by your Kindergarten Buddy to provide an additional welcome.

SCHOOL HOURS

Kindergarten  Monday - Friday   8:25 AM – 2:55 PM

Grades 1-5     Monday - Friday   8:25 AM – 3:00 PM

PTA PROGRAMS

The PTA runs a vast array of programs, educational and extracurricular, for the students, as well as many programs for the convenience of parents.  None are mandatory and the cost is often minimal.  These programs include:

• Weekly Newsletters
• After school clubs
• In-class parent-run programs, such as Artful Looking
• Events, such as the Fall Fundraiser, the school play in January, the Multi-Cultural Lunch and the School Fair
• Community Service participation opportunities for our children
• Environmental programs involving recycling and composting

This is just a small sample of the many programs that we run; we look forward to telling you about all of them in person.

Membership in the PTA requires a minimal fee, paid at the beginning of the school year.  PTA programs are funded by these fees as well as donations and funds raised at the Fundraiser. 

Kindergarten parents are encouraged to join and chair PTA committees.  It is fun and a great way to meet people and get involved in our community! To view our current committees please Click Here.

AFTER SCHOOL CLUBS (ASC)

The PTA ASC committee organizes a fall and spring session of after school enrichment activities each year. A tentative fall schedule of classes is typically posted by the end of the school year in June. Registration for clubs begins in September and more information will be sent in the mid-August email.

SCHOOL STUDENT MOBILE DIRECTORY

The student directory is on line, which can be accessed Here.

On this site, you can access all email/phone/addresses for every family in Greenacres as well as easily email teachers, class parents, etc.  You will receive an invitation to join SchoolBee in August after you join the PTA. For any issues, please contact the Directory Chair, Robert Jeremiah HERE. You will have the opportunity to make changes on your own to the directory should you have any. 

SCHOOL SUPPLIES

The PTA has partnered with Edukit (www.edukitinc.com), a premium school supply vendor, to provide a complete kit for each grade level. Edukit provides every item on the list in one box, customized to the brand name requests of the Greenacres teachers by grade.  Participation in this program is voluntary. If you choose to purchase your child's school supplies on your own, supply lists will be available on Edukit’s Web Site for download. More information will be distributed by email in June when lists become available. 

COMMUNICATION

Greenacres Gazette

The Greenacres Gazette is the PTA’s weekly newsletter. It is distributed electronically on a weekly basis, usually on Sundays, September through June, to every family in the school and to all Greenacres staff.

It contains updates and important information about various school related issues, activities and events at Greenacres and throughout the District. The Gazette is an invaluable communication link between parents and the school, particularly for those parents who are not in the school on a regular basis.

Constant Contact

In addition to the weekly Greenacres Gazette, the PTA uses the Constant Contact system to relay school related information and reminders pertinent to the upcoming week(s) via email. Important: if you opt out of any email sent via Constant Contact (from any organization) you will not receive ANY emails from Greenacres. Please contact us HERE with any issues.
