Social Studies
Our social studies curriculum is focused on connecting social studies to student's lives while exploring a theme. Students will learn about history, culture, economics, civics, and geography. Students will gain information from fiction and non-fiction texts, primary sources, and various technology sources. Children will also be studying topics of interest through the inquiry method of research.
The fourth grade focuses on three units.
1. Explorers
2. Colonial America
3. The American Revolution
We study geography throughout the year. We study the geography of the United States and the world. We use detailed, world atlases as well as large U.S. maps to aid in our study of geography.
