Yoga/Mindfulness

  • During our yoga unit, students focus on increasing their overall flexibility, strength, and balance through a variety of purposeful poses.  Over the course of each yoga routine, students stretch and strengthen their bodies from head to toe while also realizing that yoga is an effective stress management tool. Beyond the physical aspects of yoga, we teach and practice a variety of mindfulness habits and stress management tools.  Our goal is to empower our students to be able to recognize stressors, identify symptoms of stress within themselves, and use the tools we practice in their everyday lives as means of reducing the symptoms of stress.  This is a valuable and relevant experience for our students as we continue to focus on the importance of wellness.
