• Dear 3-Bhatt Students and Parents,

     

    Welcome to the 3rd grade at Quaker Ridge School!! I hope you all had some time to relax and unwind this summer, and that you are ready to start the new school year.  I would like to take this opportunity to extend a warm hello, introduce myself to those of you whom I have yet to meet, and say hello again to the families of my former students. I am very excited to begin the year, and I look forward to getting to know each of you and your children throughout the school year.

     

    I value the opportunity to collaborate to create a sense of belonging, significance and fun in the classroom environment for your children to grow as learners. As we begin our year together, I ask that you consider me your trusted partner. My plan for the upcoming year is to create a classroom community that thrives on trust, feelings of security, and family involvement, as it is my belief that children learn best when they feel comfortable, safe, and valued. I look to you for support in the creation of this environment. It is with this request in mind that I am asking you to complete the Parent Questionnaire to help me get to know your child. Please share information you think may assist me as I plan appropriate and engaging learning experiences for the upcoming school year. I truly appreciate your taking the time to help me get to know your child.

     

    In addition to the questionnaire, please send in two (4X6” or smaller) photos of your child that you do not mind donating to help me decorate the classroom with photos of the students and their families. Please note that photos may become damaged during the year, so please do not send your only copy of a special photo. I am also asking that you have your child complete the attached Getting to Know You Bag assignment prior to the first day of school, so we may begin sharing and getting to know one another.

     

    Your child will be using a Chromebook as a learning tool this year. I kindly ask that you send in a pair of headphones that your child will use throughout the year. The only requirements are that they are corded (no wireless) and comfortable for your child. I have linked several options on my supply page.

     

    I thank you in advance for your interest in your child’s schooling as well as your anticipated cooperation and support during this upcoming school year. I believe that parent-teacher communication is an integral part of each student’s success.
