        Science
In third grade we study many units such as Life Cycles of Plants, Energy, Electricity, Astronomy, and Water.  3sh is involved in many activities on a regular basis. Each month we will be observing a specific tree which is located on the grounds of QRS. In our Energy Unit we observe water boiling in a hot pot.  Each month around the same time of the month and hour, students observe the sun's shadows at a particular location in the front parking lot, make sketches, and measure the shadow on paper.  We predict how many drops of water a penny could hold.  Students will keep a science notebook, develop strong inquiry and observation skills, and reflect on their learning.

        Science Notebook

        2. Predictions (What you think the answers are to your questions):

        3. Materials: (examples) ruler, magnifying glass, quads with 4 cells, wicks, fast plants, fertilizer, seeds, pipette, spray bottle, soil

        4. Method: (What you did)- I measured the fast plant with a centimeter ruler

        5. Observations (Can include charts, data tables, sketches, labeled drawing)
